I hope the images on the following pages are helpful to other artists interested in building their own easel, taboret, and ventilation system. The approximate material cost (in 2005) for the easel was $250, for the taboret was $80, and for the ventillation system (using surplus computer fans) was $50. A chopsaw, hand drill, palm sander, and plunge router were the main power tools used. The router was used to cut the slots for the easel (although a hand jigsaw could also have been used). Although I built a fancier taboret and painting chest in 2014, the easel is still happily being used with no changes or adjustments.
